Imunitet – složen sustav zaštite našeg tijela od štetnih vanjskih utjecaja

Oslabljeni imunitet jedan je od najčešćih problema današnjice. Suvremeni ubrzani način života, nedovoljno kretanje, neredovita prehrana te izostanak sna dovode do slabljenja imuniteta.

Jačanje imuniteta

Ususret hladnijem vremenu, trebamo poraditi na jačanju imuniteta kako bismo bili otporni na štetne utjecaje i mikroorganizme iz okoline. Dani postaju sve kraći i hladniji, što znači da se više vremena zadržavamo u zatvorenim prostorijama. Time se stvaraju savršeni uvjeti za brzo širenje infekcija dišnih putova i probavnih organa kako kod djece tako i kod odraslih. Glavna funkcija imunološkog sustava je obrana organizma od različitih vrsta virusa, bakterija, gljivica i parazita, ali i toksina koji nas okružuju, kao i kod malignih promjena naših vlastitih stanica, dakle od nastanka tumora i karcinoma. Imunološki sustav je izrazito kompleksan i do danas još uvijek nije u potpunosti razjašnjen, ali generalno ga možemo podijeliti na 2 osnovne sastavnice: urođeni imunitet i stečeni imunitet.

Urođeni imunitet nalazi se na prvoj liniji obrane organizma. Razvija se od rođenja, a njegove stanice djeluju nespecifično, odnosno napadaju većinu stranih (i potencijalno štetnih) tijela koja uđu u organizam poput bakterija, virusa i sl. Stečeni imunitet predstavlja imunološku reakciju usmjerenu upravo protiv točno određenog (poznatog) antigena koji se pojavio u organizmu i rezultat je prethodnog podražaja stanica urođenog imunološkog sustava.

Urođeni i stečeni imunitet usko su povezani, zajedničkim djelovanjem se nadopunjuju i pojačavaju pa je ukupna obrana organizma od neželjenih čimbenika djelotvornija. Zašto uopće imamo stečeni (specifični) imunitet? Razlog je to što urođeni (nespecifični) imunitet nekad nije dovoljan, odnosno potrebna je posebna zaštita protiv određenih mikroorganizama, toksina i drugih tijela koji predstavljaju veću opasnost (primjerice maligno transformirane vlastite stanice – tumori). A kako stečeni imunitet može prepoznati takve opasnosti? Pomoću njihovog “otiska prsta” – tzv. antigena.

Što su antigeni?

Antigeni su jedinstveni identifikatori svake pojedinačne vrste stanica, uključujući onih koje tvore više organizme, ali i jednostaničnih organizama (mikroorganizama). Antigen je toliko jedinstven, da ga možemo vrlo lako usporediti sa otiskom prsta. Dakle, stanice urođenog (nespecifičnog) imuniteta, osim što su prva crta obrane, ujedno su i detektivi koji prepoznaju kakvi su štetni (mikro)organizmi ušli u naše tijelo, te nakon toga aktiviraju stečeni (specifični) imunitet za točno prilagođenu reakciju u svrhu brže obrane i zaštite. Jedno od najčešćih pitanja koje se danas postavlja u ljekarnama, ponajviše od strane roditelja djece predškolske i školske dobi, povezano je s mogućnosti djelovanja na imunitet. Stoga nije čudno pitanje koje se nameće: koji je proizvod pravi izbor za imunitet? Znanstveni dokazi koji iz dana u dan rastu govore u prilog tome kako danas doista postoje proizvodi pozitivnog djelovanja na imunitet.

Od prevencije virusnih infekcija do adjuvantne terapije onkoloških pacijenata, Alfa glukani polako su našli svoje mjesto kao preporuka medicinskih djelatnika širom svijeta. Iza naoko modernog naziva molekule skriva se priča stara nekoliko tisućljeća, koja je počela još u staroj Kini i tradicionalnoj istočnjačkoj medicini. Alfa glukani pripadaju velikoj grupi polisaharida koji imaju različite fiziološke funkcije u živim bićima. Osim što djeluju kao prebiotici – tvari koje su hrana za korisne bakterije, oni ujedno i djeluju kao imunomodulatori, odnosno možemo reći da “komuniciraju” s našim imunološkim sustavom.
